The Politechnic University of Valencia (UPV) is participating in two types of modelling activities. On the one hand, UPV leads a work package related to primary atomisation. In this context, highly complex Direct Number Simulations (DNS) are carried out, from which a phenomenological model will be developed that can later be used to estimate the droplet distribution created by an airblast atomiser. On the other hand, turbulent flame calculations to validate combustion and soot models developed within ESTiMatE will also be performed.
